PRIZE SHORTLISTED FESTIVAL AUTHORS
We’re proud to say that Rachel Clarke and Chloe Dalton, both of whom joined us at last year’s Festival to talk about their marvellous books “The Story of a Heart” and “Raising Hare” are currently shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction. We’ll be cheering them both on when the winner is announced on 12 June.
SLOW MIGRATIONS by ADAM HOROVITZ
When it comes to our poetry events, we’re lucky to benefit from the advice and impeccable poetry pedigree of Stroud poet, Adam Horovitz. So we’re delighted to let you know that Adam’s own new poetry collection – “Slow Migrations” – will be published by Indigo Dreams on 2ndJune.
Evoking lost landscapes, people, animals and objects, this vivid collection was inspired by the Neolithic and Bronze Age archaeology on display at the Corinium Museum in Cirencester, and prehistoric and Roman artefacts from the Roman bathing and temple complex, and Sacred Spring at the heart of the Roman Baths in Bath.
“Slow Migrations” will be available from Stroud Bookshop and other independent bookshops.
THE LAURIE LEE PRIZE 2025: OPEN FOR ENTRIES.
A reminder that there is still time to enter this year’s Laurie Lee Prize for Writing. The theme for this year’s Prize is ‘Journeys’, and the entry criteria have been widened to include anyone who works or goes to school or university in Gloucestershire or South Gloucestershire, as well as those who live here full time or were born in the county.
The close date is 31 July 2025….so what are you waiting for?
