This is your Friday reminder that tickets for Stroud Book Festival 2025 go on general sale one week from today on Friday 12th September (from 9am). If you’re a Sub Rooms Patron or Member, you’ll be able to buy them a day or two earlier.

Once on sale, you can purchase tickets by clicking through from Stroud Book Festival website, or by going direct to thesubrooms.co.uk. You can also buy tickets by calling 01453 796880, or in-person at the Sub Rooms box office, George Street, Stroud GL5 1AE (Tuesday-Saturday, 9-4pm).

Bringing you a host of authors across a wide range of genres from fiction to history, politics, health and self-help, nature and the environment, Stroud Book Festival 2025 gets under way on Wednesday 5th November (remember remember…) with our Firewords Night, staged in aid of Nailsworth-based charity, Read for Good. We’ll be celebrating and defending the enduring power of books and reading with the help of ten Stroud authors and Richard Ovenden, author and the 25^th

Eight fantastic children’s authors, including Children’s Laureate Frank Cottrell-Boyce and Cressida Cowell, will join us during our three days of events for Gloucestershire primary schools on Wednesday 5th, Thursday 6th and Friday 7th November. Stroud Book Festival weekend on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th November will be packed with fantastic events for children and families, including interactive workshops, spellbinding storytelling, and appearances from Julia Donaldson, Kes Gray, Michael Morpurgo and Robin Stevens.

Among the authors headlining our programme for adults are Roger McGough, Philippe Sands, Ian McEwan, Robert Macfarlane, Elif Shafak, Lyse Doucet, Mary Portas andAngela Harding. Demand for all these events will be high so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Finally, we know that many of you love to plan your Festival with our printed brochure to hand. We’re currently working hard to finalise this year’s brochure and it should be available to pick up free from Stroud Bookshop and other venues across the Five Valleys in the next couple of weeks.
