Earlier this year, Stroud’s own Katie Fforde published her 25th novel, “A Rose Petal Summer”. It went straight to Number One in the bestseller lists for hardback fiction.
In celebration of both these remarkable achievements, we have invited Katie to host this very special event, for which she will be joined by the authors of her two favourite debut novels of the past year. Together they will talk about romance, about writing and about much more besides.
Anstey Harris is the author of “The Truths and Triumphs of Grace Atherton”, a Richard & Judy Book Club choice and a gorgeously heartfelt tale of love and loss. It’s the story of a woman who has her heart broken, but then puts it back together again in the most uplifting and exquisite way.
Joe Heap is the author of “Ways of Seeing”, described by one reviewer as “this year’s Eleanor Oliphant”. It’s the story of Nova who can do many things beautifully but who is unable to see. When her brother convinces her to have an operation that will restore her sight, Nova wakes up to a world she no longer understands. Until she meets Kate, that is.
Your ticket price includes a glass of pink fizz (alcoholic or non-alcoholic, as you prefer), and a slice of celebration cake.
