15:00-17:00 Sunday 5th November
Join this group workshop led by nationally published poet Philip Rush of Yew Tree Press.
Working with the theme A Sense of Place you will be looking closely at two or three poems – by established authors and also new names – which use ‘a sense of place’ to elaborate careful ideas and issues. You will also be discussing how we can learn in our own poetry to move on from composing purely visual or ‘landscape’ poetry to using place as a touchstone for deeper meditation.
You will be invited to write something on the day, with the opportunity to share and receive impromptu feedback from the group.
Note: It might be an excellent idea to refresh yourself with a reading of Wordsworth’s Lines written a few miles above Tintern Abbey if you plan to attend!
