Join us as we announce and celebrate the winners of the Laurie Lee Prize for Writing 2026. Alongside the announcement of the winners in the two categories (over 21 years and 16-20 years), you’ll have the opportunity to hear the first public readings from the successful works.

The Laurie Lee Prize, now in its fifth year, celebrates and supports emerging Gloucestershire authors who, like Laurie Lee himself, capture the spirit of place, nature and human experience throughout their prose and poetry.

Whether you are a fan of Laurie Lee’s work, an aspiring writer, or simply a lover of literature, this promises to be a memorable event, celebrating the power of words, and the next generation of local literary talent.

We are once again partnering with monthly local arts and culture magazine Good on Paper, who will be publishing the two winning entries early in 2027.
