Tickets On Sale Now!

Dear Festival Friends

We’re happy to announce that tickets are now on sale for our seventh annual celebration of stories, ideas and community for readers of all ages, via the box office at Stroud Sub Rooms. You can also book by phone – 01453 796880 – or in person (Tuesday-Saturday).

We recommend you first browse our programme on the Stroud Book Festival website – – in order to make your selections. Later this month, we’ll be launching both a printed brochure (available from Stroud Sub Rooms, Stroud Bookshop and other venues in and around Stroud), as well as an online one. But for now, our website has full details of all events. Look out for our waving junior robot, highlighting our children’s events.

Our full programme of 40 events encompasses prize-winning novelists and poets, and bestselling children’s authors, along with writers across many other genres including popular and environmental science, military history, current affairs, memoir, and natural history.

Alongside the headliners we have already announced, including Ian McEwan, Julia Donaldson, Maggie Aderin-Pocock, John Agard, Ali Smith and Kate Mosse, the Stroud Book Festival programme also features a strong showing of Gloucestershire writers: Angela Findlay, Jamila Gavin, Arthur Snell, Juliet Davenport, Tracey Corderoy, Adam Horovitz, Madeleine Bunting, Penny Parkes, Christopher Edge, Sabrina Pace-Humphreys, Kate Riordan, Rachel Joyce and Jane Bailey

Our ambition every year is to produce a programme with a distinctly Stroud flavour that will entertain, start conversations, help us grapple with world events, spark joy, and above all celebrate the myriad possibilities of the written word.

As always, please do keep an eye on our website for the latest news at And a reminder that if you are on social media, you can also follow us for updates.
